    When Mornington Peninsula Shire held a major review of its existing asset management solution, they found that their collection, inspection and management workflows were in need of a considerable overhaul. Reliance on paper-based inspection records and outdated processes were preventing the Shire from managing information effectively. To facilitate consistent and accurate data collection, they recognized the need for a centralized asset management system that enabled secure, real-time data access within map-based workflows and forms. The Shire chose GeoMedia Smart Client as the single solution supporting both internal personnel and external contractors collecting data in the field.     In a country as densely populated and regulated as the Netherlands, detecting and mapping change is critical. Whether it’s for updating building footprints for base registrations and taxes, or to detect changes in terrain to control water flow, being able to act on changes quickly is vital. 3D point clouds can have a huge benefit in both sectors. In this webcast, you will learn how the City of Nijmegen has overcome traditional problems with imagery based change detection like leaning and shadow, using high density point clouds derived from stereo. It allows them to detect even the smallest changes, like roof extensions and new developments in backyards of houses. Also, you will understand how Waterboard Hunze & Aa’s can apply the same techniques for terrain analysis, allowing them to detect obstructions in water lines and other changes that affect natural flow of water. Being able to act fast, strategically plan for pumping and identify areas at risk for flooding, they are able to save resources, and even lives.
