Hexagon’s Geospatial Division Introduces New “Smart Digital Reality” Vision at HxGN LIVE 201814 June 2018
NORCROSS, GA. – Hexagon’s Geospatial division unveiled its new “Smart Digital Reality” strategy at HxGN LIVE 2018.
With a vision of fusing ever-expanding data sources into a single platform, which can handle indoors, outdoors, sea, subterranean, and aerial data, the new “Smart Digital Reality” approach will enable Hexagon’s technology to work everywhere, and to provide real-time location intelligence for the places and times that matter the most. This was the key theme from the HxGN LIVE 2018 keynote address by Mladen Stojic, President of Hexagon’s Geospatial division.
“By fusing every type of data source into a new digital reality, we are able to bridge the divide between the static world and the dynamic world,” said Stojic. “With our web-based platform, we will allow you and your customers to bring a new digital reality to every user – from a city office to a mining site. Our vision is to deliver location intelligence solutions that are smart and that allow you to act now, in real-time.”
Propelled by the acquisition of Luciad in 2017, Hexagon now offers critical visualization technologies that support live connections to dynamic sensor feeds in a 3D environment. The result is a 5D digital reality – real-time, rapid fusion of multi-source content and the ability to perform analytics on-the-fly.
“Combining Luciad’s innovation with Hexagon’s software stack, we are now ready to handle today and tomorrow’s smart nation, city, and site challenges,” added Stojic. “Our goal is to dramatically shorten the time between data acquisition, and real time information delivery.”
Part of Hexagon’s vision for the future is also moving analytics to the Edge of the Cloud to best support the expanding stream of data from sensors – where users can also intelligently analyze and process from the data stream source. With today’s cloud revolution, Big Data analytics and Machine Learning will also become more autonomous and help to predict the future and define what will happen.
“Machine learning is an application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) that provides systems the ability to automatically learn and improve from experience, and Hexagon will be on the forefront of this shift by enabling organizations to advance decision making by seeing what was and what will be,” added Stojic.
