Incident Analyzer Honored with Award for Best Software

27 October 2016

Hamburg, Germany, October 27 – Incident Analyzer, a Hexagon Smart M.App from Hexagon Geospatial took home the Wichmann Innovations Award for Best Software at INTERGEO 2016 in Hamburg, Germany. The award was presented by Wichmann Verlag, a publisher well-known for their expertise in professional magazines and specialist books for geodesy and geomatics.

Companies from around the globe submitted products and applications to participate in the competition. From hundreds of submissions, a jury of industry leaders selected 10 products and applications to receive votes from the general public. The main criteria for the award were innovation, user-friendliness and practicality.

“We are honored that our Smart M.App won the Wichmann Innovations Award for Best Software,” said Hexagon Geospatial President Mladen Stojic. “Hexagon Smart M.Apps are reimagining the way that we communicate geospatial information. Incident Analyzer visualizes trends, providing unique insight into the past, present, and future outcomes.”

This Smart M.App provides an intuitive, user friendly environment for consuming incident data in a dynamic information experience. With Incident Analyzer, anyone can create, manage, disseminate, share, and host a wide array of dynamic intelligence reports that depict meaningful spatial patterns within incident data sets in an interactive fashion.

Incident Analyzer has already been used by organizations like the Antiquities Coalition to drive governmental policy. The #CultureUnderThreat Smart M.App tracks the plundering and destruction of cultural heritage sites in the Middle East and North Africa. Historical artifacts from these sites are being sold on the Black Market and used to fund terrorist organizations. The Antiquities Coalition used this Smart M.App in their #CultureUnderThreat Task Force report which informed the U.S. Senate’s recent ban on importing and trafficking of illicit objects.
