Mozio Makes Airport Travel Easy with Google Maps from Hexagon
Airport Local Transport Challenge
Travelers face a dizzying array of options for getting to and from the airport, including trains, buses, taxis, shuttles, limousines, and more. Landing in an unfamiliar city and trying to figure out the local transport system can be confusing and stressful. Mozio partnered with Hexagon to make airport travel easy by allowing people to easily compare all their options in advance and buy a ticket before they leave home. To do this, Mozio needed access to reliable and accurate mapping data worldwide.
Get Trip Options for Airport Local Travel
Mozio worked with Hexagon, a Google premier partner, to build these capabilities with Google Maps Platform. When a customer visits Mozio’s website, the Google Maps Places API allows them to quickly enter their start point and destination. The address autocomplete feature helps reduce user typing errors to ensure the locations are accurate when customers enter their destinations. The Geocoding API looks up the associated geographic coordinates, such as longitude and latitude, which Mozio uses to query local transportation providers to find the best options available. The Distance Matrix API helps calculate the correct fares, and customers can then select and buy their ticket.
Google Maps APIs for Local Transport
Millions of apps and sites use Google Maps APIs. Mozio uses these sets of APIs to benefit their business and customers:
- Google Places API Web Service: Easily enter starting points and destinations
- Google Maps Geocoding API: Query partner systems to identify transport options
- Google Maps Distance Matrix API: Calculate fares using distance and time of travel
